Our Story

Welcome! We are so glad you found our website. We love that you have an interest in mushrooms. We are the Chans: Carol Anne, a Certified Health Coach, and Dr. Stephen Chan, a Holistic Dentist. We are both passionate about preventive and holistic health, and helping our community thrive.

In December 2024, we became the proud owners of Indian Iron Farms in Ramona, CA, where we grow delicious, nutritious, sustainably grown, organic mushrooms.

As a registered nurse for over 45 years, I have always been drawn to natural health solutions. After experiencing firsthand the life-enhancing power of medicinal mushrooms, I knew I wanted to share them with others. Together, we’ve poured our hearts into this farm, blending our backgrounds in holistic health to cultivate something truly meaningful.

Currently, we grow Lion’s Mane, Chestnut, Blue Oyster, Pearl Oyster, King Oyster and Golden Oyster, and Shiitake mushrooms. We grow indoors under precise temperature and humidity controls for maximum freshness, potency, and flavor. We offer soil amendments that are loaded with mycelium that create a super bloom where you use it.

All the mushrooms we grow have amazing health benefits and taste great, too!

“Indian Iron” refers to canvas or animal hide so strong that arrows could not pierce it. Like our mushrooms, it symbolizes natural strength and resilience. Our farm features peaceful walking paths, flower gardens, and a traditional teepee for visitors to enjoy sound baths, meditation, or just a quiet moment under the oaks. There is something truly magical and energizing about this property. 

We sell directly from our farm stand, at local farmers markets, and through our simple to use online store. Whether you’re a chef, a holistic practitioner, or simply someone looking to eat cleaner, Indian Iron Farms is here to serve you.
